To celebrate World Book Day 2017 we took part in a number of events throughout the week. There was a visit from the author, Meg Cowley who held an illustration workshop for Classes 3 and 4. Pupils in Classes 1 and 2 visited Northowram Library where they learned about the wonderful books on offer in the library. Each Class then built a special ‘Book Door’ to share their love of books. As usual we did lots of reading throughout the week with Class 4 holding some extra ‘buddy reading’ sessions with younger pupils.
Class 2 have recently been learning about special buildings. To explore some of the interesting architecture in our community, last week they visited St. Matthew’s Church, Northowram. During their visit, Canon James explained many of the key design features of the church. The children also learned about the Christian service of Holy Communion and dressed up as vicars.
